In the last week in October, for the second year running, Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR) came to the protected waters of Sabah Al Ahmad Sea City to release young Sea Bream fish. Over two days, the KISR team released over 21,000 Sobaity into two selected locations.
Dr Khaled Al Abdul-Elah, Manager Aquaculture Programme of KISR, identifies the objective of the release initiative to enrich the natural stock of one of the most important fisheries in Kuwait, contributing to the security of the whole marine food web.
Khaled Selim (KISR) explains the selection of the fish release site, pointing to the very high water quality and oxygenation of the waters, making Sabah Al Ahmad Sea City the perfect location in Kuwait for releasing the fish.
